Lions Peace Poster Contest
Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an international contest that encourages children, ages 11-13, to creatively express what peace means to them.
The 2009-2010 contest theme is "THE POWER OF PEACE"
Artwork must be no smaller than 13" x 20" and no larger than 20" x 24" and must be completed on paper that can be rolled for shipping in a mailing tube.

The winning poster from each Milpitas middle school must be submitted to the Milpitas Host Lions no later than Nov. 5, 2010 for entry in the district contest. Call Lion Irene at 408-469-1991, or email mhlions@gmail.com.

Lions Student Speakers Contest
The Milpitas Host Lions Club announces its next Speakers Contest which will begin a series of contests starting in February 2010. The subject will be announced soon. All students in Grades 9 through 12 may enter. Prizes are substantial, and students can earn up to $20,000.00 in scholarship money.
THIS YEAR'S TOPIC IS: "UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE: HOW WILL IT AFFECT YOU?"
Prizes and contest levels are as follows:
Club level: $50 award
Zone level: $75 award
Region level: $125 award
District: $4,500 scholarship
Area: $6,500 scholarship
MD-4: $10,000 scholarship
The speech must be between 5 and 10 min - no less, no more. Students are disqualified for timing infractions.
